Wamego High School was upgraded and expanded in four critical areas - new gymnasium, new media center, new science lab suite, and new music classrooms.

Other improvements included general remodeling of the original 1938 building; technology, environmental, life safety improvements, and elimination of walls.  The building was made fire safe and ADA compliant.

The budget for improved landscaping allowed the design to include a newly paved street corner with street lights and planters to further enhance the exterior of the school.
