Spring Valley Elementary School is the prototype design for what is projected to be a total of four new elementary schools to be constructed in the next 10 years. It is designed for 436-545 students in 22 K-5 classrooms. Unique features of the prototype include:
- 3 classroom pods with multi-purpose instructional spaces for large and small group work, special education, and testing/counseling
- A unique tri-stage area that serves the gymnasium, commons, and media center. It includes a double set of operable partitions providing for simultaneous use and maximum flexibility
- A centrally-located media center with storytelling area and natural daylighting
- Highly efficient heating-cooling systems, projected to be the district's lowest energy cost per square foot
