The number of soldiers on post at Fort Riley is expected to increase two-fold by 2016.  With the number of soldiers with children and families also growing, this will put additional strain on the 383 District.  The enrollment projections over the same time span increase the number of students from Elementary to Senior High from 5,500 to 7,000 students.  The solution is to plan ahead and consider future growth projections now.

The proposed improvement budgets are divided into three priorities.  Improvements for the school district are needed in these 4 areas:

• Security and Life Safety
• Maintenance and Repair
• Enrollment Capacity
• Program Enhancement
