K-State Salina Student Life Center will provide students and faculty a place to meet, develop leadership skills, maintain physical health, and promote academic achievement.
Phase One is a freestanding facility near the campus entrance. The center provides a gymnasium, 1/8-mile elevated running track, racquetball court, weight/cardio area and lounge. Completion is scheduled for Spring 2009.
Phase Two includes an elevated, enclosed walkway that connects the rec center to the campus center. The campus center first floor expansion includes dining, coffee shop, food court and a commercial kitchen. A concourse/commons area will lead to meeting rooms, offices, and a two-story bookstore. The second floor will house offices and alumni center. There is also possibility to expand the rec center to include larger cardio space, locker rooms, second racquetball court, and an aerobics room.
